Today LP already did a show in France, but yesterday she was still in Italy, Naples to be exact. And I am not sure, maybe I am overthinking it, but it seemed to me, from some of the short videos that were shared via Instagram, that it was an emotional visit for her. Naples is a place where her maternal grandparents came from, so I think it’s a place close to her heart, though as LP mentioned in interview for Radio Kiss Kiss, she loves Italy as a whole.
She visited the restaurant-pizzeria Acqua & Farina, where she got a heart-shaped pizza for lunch, there is even a tiny article about that visit (with pictures) at local online paper. In the evening LP performed at Noisy Naples Fest at Arena Flegrea as a main star of that evening, with Oregon Trees opening for her, yet another concert. Many short videos were shared, sadly not many quotes, though I did found one that I really liked as it reminded me about my first meeting/seeing LP in person back in January in Warsaw, Poland. Claudia first quoted part of Tokyo Sunrise: “Some day in the sky, We’ll see the same sun on the rise, yeah, Wherever you go, Far as Tokyo I can say I’ll see you again”.
Then she wrote “Conoscete la sensazione di ritrovare una persona cara, un’amica, dopo una lunga assenza? Quando istintivamente le braccia si tendono per abbracciare e le mani stringono per rinsaldare la presa? Per me è stato questo incontrare LP, qui, a Napoli, su quel palco, che sembrava così grande per lei, ma che alla fine si è dimostrato essere troppo piccolo, stretto, per la sua immensa voce. Io avrei voluto abbracciarla ma ha abbracciato lei me, noi, in un unico coro. Ci ha accolti tutti sul suo veliero e ci ha guidato con il suo canto, che si è fatto vento e ci ha spinto lontano. Thank you LP, I’ll see you again!”.
Now, I will try to translate it: “Do you know that feeling of seeing a dear person, a friend after a long absence? When instinctively your arms tend to embrace him and your hands tighten and tighten your grip? For me it was this, seeing LP here, in Naples, on that stage, which looked too big for her, but which eventually proved to be too small, too tight, for her immense voice. I would have liked to embrace her but she hugged me, us, in a single choir. She greeted us all on her sailboat and guided us with her songs, which made themself a wind and pushed us away”. She added, “Thank you LP, I’ll see you again!”.
This is exactly what I thought when I first saw LP at that fan meeting in Empik. It was like seeing a very dear friend, you haven’t seen in a while, and all you wanted to do was to hug her and tell her how much you missed her… And that’s extacly what I did… LP does this, she emanates this kind of aura around her, it’s hard to explain it, but when you see her, you just feel it. It’s something very personal, something that maybe not everyone will get, but I’d like to think, that all those hypersensitive souls (like myself) are on the same wavelength as LP….

Also, there is a wonderful interview with Dario Raimondi Cominesi of Energy Production, about how it is to work with LP and what exactly made him to produce her, how this collaboration was born. One of my favourite quotes about LP by Dario: “In addition to the obvious talent, I would say that in a flash my voice has penetrated my soul.” What made Dario to produce her record in Italy?: “The sensation, then the certainty of its uniqueness.” Dario speaks very fondly about LP, he even describes her as perfect.
