Oh Italy, what a ride it has been. You had an amazing time with LP, and I think the feeling was mutual. She was really happy to have Lauren next to her. So many movies, pics and thoughts have been shared that I really do not know where to begin today’s post… Let’s start with this cute pic of LP who visited Il Santa Bistrò Moderno in Milan.
She arrived at Alcatraz – nightclub in Milano in the afternoon on the 3rd of April, sadly there wasn’t time for meet & greet with the fans, but when LP arrived the line in front of the club was already pretty long. Pic of LP’s arrival is here. Then there was a soundcheck and at about 8 pm, last LP’s show in Italy started with Lauren’s set. Not sure on the setlist, she might have sung 7 songs as in Padova.
LP started with her opening song, ‘Muddy Waters’ and continued with the same setlist as on the days before. But Italy was in for a treat… However, more about that, a bit later. During ‘Tightrope’ LP was joined at the stage by Lauren. The love between the two of them is so obvious… They were so happy to be there together, supporting one another. I noticed on pics that during Lauren’s set, LP was standing in the background with a huge smile on her face.
Lauren is like a stage animal, she can really make the crowd go wild. She is full of expressions and emotions when she sings. It’s incredible how much talent both LP & Lauren have, what a duo it is. I wish them all the best in the future as life when both partners are singers and often on the road… Well it is not easy to make such relationship work, though it seems that they found the right way to carry on.
Anyway, back to the ‘Tightrope’, it was a wonderful moment for both of them, and they enjoyed the moment while it lasted. Again, with a kiss Lauren left a stage. LP was also in her element yesterday, she was so happy celebrating her success in Italy, place that is so close to her because of her family roots… She was singing along with people and even jumped from the stage to the barriers, to be closer to her fans.
I liked this sentence that I read in an Italian article – after concert in Milan – that LP is breaking down barries, both physical and mental… Need I say more? LP has touched me and changed me in a way that it’s hard to describe, I only know no one else did that before her. She is showing a lot of people, myself including, that we should embrace who we are and we should stay true to ourselves – it’s possibly the only way to find happiness and a peace of mind…
And it doesn’t matter who you are, what makes you – you. Just be true to yourself. Try to embrace who you are. After all, “we are all strange, and it ain’t never ever never gonna change“. I love this song so very much, and I’m sure it’s an anthem to many people all around the world.
But back to the concert, like I mentioned earlier, Italy was in for a treat… LP did something extraordinary. She added one more song to her setlist as en encore. She sung ‘Night Like This’, which was dedicated to Italian fanclub, who welcomed LP on her first day in Italy with lyrics “you are the one, you are the only one“.
This songs is from the 2014 album, “Forever For Now”. I must say I was very surprised, but also very happy for Italy. I haven’t heard it being performed live in a very long time. Video for “Night Like this” was shared by LP Italia Official – click here.
OK, and now I will try to give links to photo-galleries that were shared from Milan, and there are many. From Alcatraz club – click here. By OnStage – here. Gallery by Marco Cattaneo Music Photography, click here. By XL Repubblica – here. Music Attitude gallery – here. The Front Row – here. And a huge gallery by Elena Di Vincenzo on flickr, here.
And as I was working on my post, LP released #BringYourStrange Q&A’s video from Vienna – Episode 3. Episode 2 – recap from Prague was released yesterday. All episodes released so far can be found here. Also a shout-out to LP’s fans. If you have some great pics or would like to share your thoughts after LP’s concerts, just get in touch with me via email (you can do so in a blog section titled “about”). I will be happy to include more quotes, as I know LP unites many people who are thankful for her music, voice and charisma. And there are many different reasons she unites us all.
This time I would like to quote Gaelle Cathy, first post is dedicated to LP. Gaelle writes: “I want to thank you @iamlpofficial for 3 exceptional nights in Italy. I’m sorry that I always seem to freeze in front of you and can never tell you what I want to tell you. Maybe it’s because I’m a writer, harder for me to talk. Tonight I had a great opportunity, thanks to the coolest most awesome @mikesassano , yet I missed it, so I’m gonna do it now. Let’s start by being very dramatic (we, authors, dig that) ?. LP, you saved my life“.
“Okay, lighter now, I mean that now I am actually living it instead of watching it go by, like a bystander. Though a ten years long listeners of yours, it is that first show in France in September that did it, triggered something very deep inside. And I am realizing my dreams LP, one by one, even those I had forgotten by forgetting who I was, those past years. I found my passion again… I hope you read this, so many things i wish I could tell you, but in the end it’s not so important. I’m just one in a million who just tell you thank you LP, for the genuine wonderful human being that you are…
We love you, but you know that“.
“P.S. A huge enormous thank you for bringing us @laurenruthward and @theeddierivers but that’s for another post because that girl and her partner in crime SO deserve their own post.
Thank you, thank you, thank you??”.
Gaelle’s second post is dedicated to Lauren: “I want to thank from the bottom of my heart @laurenruthward @theeddierivers. Those 3 days in Italy have been really something else. You have been nothing but amazing and kind and your passion and complicity on stage transcends words, really. You already know how much I love your music, seeing you live has been an incredible and even emotional adventure. I am honestly already missing you, guys. I told Eddie and I mean it, you will see me in your shows in LA one of these days. I need more of that exilarating feeling that I have when you play. Lauren, you are really a sweetheart and I adore you. I can’t wait to see you again in Paris. Those emotions…that’s what life is about. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love you guys!!!????”.
PS. LP is already in Switzerland, today it is a free day for her band, and tomorrow they will play their set for Zermatt Unplugged. So I will be back with a fresh next post on a day after tomorrow.
