It’s been a week since LP has started her North American Tour, last night she performed at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The Wonder Ballroom is a music venue now, the building however was originally constructed in 1914 for the Ancient Order of Hibernians, an organization committed to immigration reform and the preservation of Irish culture. Another historic and rather interesting venue. It was also second night for Brian and his band The Years, to open for LP along with Noah Kahan.
Then LP took the stage and hearts of all the pople that gathered to listen to her voice. Jessica (@jessica_m_thomason): “Oh man, so so so in love ? I mean, it’s no secret that I star crush like the best of them, like it could be my job ? oooooooooh, but LP….. She may be the leader of the pack ??? Sweet mother of god✨ I mean, that voice is everything, but I doubt there is a cooler cat out there. Every moment is photo worthy. Her style, swagger, level expert. Her little side smile ?”.
“When I looked around the room it was clear everyone there felt the same way. Lovevsick puppies everywhere!!! Men, women, old, young, they literally looked like this emoji ???? I’m pretty sure she winked at me, and later pointed at me, and even if she didn’t, it felt like she did and that’s good enough ??♀️?”. @larizasisters: “Thank you @iamlpofficial you were FANFUCKINGTASTIC last night✨??✨ #handsdown best female vocalist we’ve ever seen”. Kelly (@kellyjebo): “LP knocked many socks off tonight”.
Christine (@
k9s_and_cannabis): “So blessed to meet a truly amazingly talented, and kind artist @iamlpofficial. Hands down this was a beautiful experience, the energy in the building was amazing! Keep spreading that joy and inspiration LP!”. Atlas (@
gypsy_tree_): “Best show, hands down?? @iamlpofficial is incredible ❤️❤️❤️”. Grimm (@
grimmorrei): “LP is amazing live and I’m so glad I got to see her!”. Jasmine (@
votremuse): “@iamlpofficial Killed It last night!!! What an amazing show!!! If you haven’t checked out her music you’re missing out”.
Dominique (itsajazzylife): “LP was incredible!!! All the feels. ALL the feels!!! It makes me so happy when those who find fame still take the time to talk with and engage their fans. LP put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and took the time to chat with her fans in the cold – Your warmth was felt nonetheless! Thank you!!”. Hannah (@smeddy_j): “Got to see LP sing last night in Portland, it was everything! She is so flipping talented; a goddess!”. Laura (@hippieinarobotworld): “#LP fucking killed it! What a great show”.
That would be end of quotes from Instagram. I also found nice though short review with pictures from LP’s gig at The Independent. After The Bay Bridged: “So LP (…) is a badass, just to re-establish a well-known fact. It’s cool when you see an artist walk on stage with a confident and soft smile on their face, one that only comes from the knowledge they are about to crush it. (…) LP’s voice is the musical equivalent of getting your back scratched. Both soothing and chill inducing”. How can I not agree with that?! And why I didn’t think of such comparison?! Brilliant!
Also today I would like to do a shout-out to LP’s long time friend Audra Mae. Audra is an American singer and songwriter from Oklahoma City. As a trivia fact, she is the great-great-niece of Judy Garland. She and LP known each other for quite some time and teamed up to write a song titled ‘Open Arms’ featured on Audra’s latest record “Love, Audra Mae”. Song was co-written “many moons ago” (possibly in 2015?) with LP & Jimmy Harry, and just recently saw the light of day. Audra’s album will be released on her birthday on the 20th February.
When you will listen to ‘Open Arms’, you will hear LP in backing vocals. When LP was recording “Long Way to Go To Die”, it was Audra who backed LP with her vocals (along with few other friends). If you will check Youtube you will also find a sweet recording from 2013, when LP joined Audra on stage of Rockwell Table and they both sung Audra’s song titled ‘Lightning In A Bottle’. For video click here. Also, you may not even realize it but there’s almost 100% chance that you have heard Audra’s voice before without knowing the person behind it.
Remember Avicii and his “Addicted to You”, “Shame on Me”, “Long Road To Hell” along with cover of “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone? Yes, all those songs were sung by Audra Mae! Audra, congrats on the upcoming album, looking forward to listen to it! As for ‘Open Arms’ you will find it on Spotify and Apple. Tonight, LP will perform in Boise, Idaho.

Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
