On 15th July, still in Switzerland, LP took part in Moon & Stars Festival 2017. LP was a special guest, before a main star of the evening – Zucchero. Concert took place at Piazza Grande in Locarno. Locarno is located on the northern shore of Lago Maggiore at its northeastern tip in the canton of Ticino at the southern foot of the Swiss Alps. The official language of Locarno is Italian.

Before the concert took place, LP got inducted into Moon & Stars ‘Walk of Fame’ in Locarno. She left her handprints and signature. LP posted few quick Insta-videos of that moment. Person who was helping with handprints had to use quite a lot of strength, I was worried that those delicate hands will get squished, but thankfully both hands and handprints turned out to be ok!
Locarno’s “Moon and Stars”, is the largest festival in the southern Alps and also the most atmospheric. In every July it attracts thousands of music fans from far and wide. The Piazza Grande turns into a giant concert arena, offering a superbly stylish setting for top international acts. Ten open-air concerts make the Mediterranean-style town into the summer feel-good capital of Switzerland.
As for the concert, there was a live feed, but in my stupidity, I learnt about it after the concert ended, I was just in time for Zucchero… When it comes to pictures, again, very little was shared, even though the piazza really was grand and I saw thousands of people. There is something to wipe away our tears, for this missed opportunity. Don’t know if you remember, but back in May (21st to be exact), LP was in Nashville during her US tour. She played a concert at 3rd & Lindsley that was streamed live via Lightning 100. Finally (almost) the whole set is up online and you can listen to it by clicking on the link above.
