Today, June 08th, LP has already played her Sonic Lunch’s concert at Ann Arbor. Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch started in 2008. It is a free and suitable for all ages summer outdoor concert series happening at the corner of Liberty and Division in downtown Ann Arbor on Thursdays at Noon. Sonic Lunch is a collaborative effort spearheaded by Bank of Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor’s 107one and Morning Host Martin Bandyke provide promotional support and host each event. For full history of the event click here.
First, really good news, Sonic Lunch provided 34 minutes of live feed, and you can view the video by clicking here. The beginning is missing, as LP started with ‘Muddy Waters’ and I think ‘Strange’. Edit. There was also ‘Into The Wild’. Sonic’s video starts with ‘Tightrope’, followed by ‘Up Against Me’, ‘Other People’, ‘Death Valley’, ‘Tokyo Sunrise’, ‘No Witness’, ‘When We’re High’, and for big finish ‘Lost On You’. During ‘Tokyo’, LP’s throat was playing tricks on her, but she made sure to end this song with an incredible performance of her voice abilities. And she won the crowd. No doubt about it.
Also quite a few people already shared some pics of this event and there are already some really nice comments. Let’s start with the one by Sonic Lunch (@soniclunch): “LP rocked Ann Arbor to its core today ?? #soniclunch #happythursday”. Gean (@whoisgeanvincent): “Thanks @soniclunch and everyone else who helped make this dream a reality. ??? Thank you @iamlpofficial for years of great, inspiring music! #LP #SonicLunch #AnnArbor”. @artbybperigo: “@iamlpofficial Thank you for an incredible show! I finally got to meet you and see you live! I’m on cloud nine! Love you LP! “. Btw, she posted two great quick Insta-videos of LP’s performance.
@morobilderich: “Had the best lunch break of my life today listening to/seeing @iamlpofficial sing her heart out in the flesh. Beyond thankful to the folks at @annarbors107one for bringing her and her band to us and playing her on the radio, and to LP herself for giving us such amazing music. Get out and check out Sonic Lunch, people of Ann Arbor!”. Kristy (@kristyncharlie): “Last minute work cancellation = my first Sonic Lunch w/LP and it DID NOT disappoint. AMAZING!”.
Those next two posts are connected. @atdimarco: “@mykel58 and @iamlpofficial sang together #visitannarbor #soniclunch”. Michael (@mykel58) followed with: “FREAKING @iamlpofficial WAS @soniclunch AND SANG TO ME! THANKS TO @reillyjean for getting this video!”. For the really great video of that moment click here. Michael also posted a really great pic of LP with himself, adding: “When one of your favorite artists is also the sweetest person ever you get stuff like this happening. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ “.
One more quote, this one is from Steph (@stephbee23): “Bumped into the lovely and hilarious @iamlpofficial after her incredible set at #soniclunch. Loved chatting about the industry and record deals. Take it from her – DON’T GIVE UP!! The same songs that get rejected by one stuffed shirt exec will be loved the world over when released in the right way at the right time. ❤️❤️❤️ #livemusic #amazingmusic #thosePIPEStho”.
Finally two new interviews with LP are up online. First one for In Style UK can be found here. Another one for Billboard is here. In this article, LP picks her favorite lesbian pop culture moments: ‘From Ellen DeGeneres to ‘The L Word’. Tomorrow LP will be playing at the Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Can you believe this tour is ending and in just one week LP will be back in Europe?!
Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
