Yesterday, LP was part of a line up for Primo Maggio Roma – music festival organized annually since 1990 on the occasion of Labor Day in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome. For the first time, due to restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020 the concert aired without the presence of the public and from a television studio instead of the square.
This year artists were performing live from the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. Public was not allowed to attend due to covid-restrictions but the whole event was streamed live via Rai TV & Rai Radio. TV was being blocked for those outside of Italy as per usual.
The hosts of the event were Ambra Angiolini, Stefano Fresi and Lillo, the comedian returning from the success of LOL. About forty singers performed from the stage celebrating 1st day of May, including many “Sanremo” faces but there were also international guests ft. Noel Gallagher of Oasis and LP.
Their performances were streamed on screens, as obviously they weren’t able to travel to take part in the event personally. LP’s performance was pre-recorded at the Valentine Studio, from where she did her concert for the Bandsintown Plus. For yesterday’s performance LP has chosen her latest single, ‘One Last Time’.
I don’t know how you feel about this song but it keeps growing and growing on me with every live performance as it shows its real depth and emotions hidden in this ‘easy listen’ of a song. It’s actually a lot more complex. And it somehow mimics complexity of LP’s nature and her attention to detail and lyrics.
You can watch LP’s performance courtesy of my good friends of LPpeople Italia. We always make sure to cover each other backs in order to be able to follow each & every LP streamed performance and share it with you (if only possible). If the video somehow doesn’t show up in your feed, please check my Facebook.
And here’s what we can still look forward to. On May 6th there’s a kickoff of WTMD’s Virtual First Thursday Festival series. The lineup features performances from LP, Cautious Clay, Manchester Orchestra, Middle Kids, Cris Jacobs and more. It will be streamed live from 7.30 pm (Baltimore time) via WTMD’s radio Facebook page.
And on May 14th LP will take part in Friend Fest, first-of-its-kind digital festival experience, leveraging new technologies to feature artist-curated lineups on multiple stages. This first iteration will hold performances from many notable names like Reggie Watts and Noah Cyrus.
In order to watch the event you need to purchase a VIP ticket (cost is 7 USD). All proceeds from VIP ticket sales will benefit MusiCares and their Covid-19 Response Fund. For tickets click here. Coincidentally, also yesterday, Nate Campany (LP’s friend & co-writer) shared a pic of LP with Noah Cyrus.
It looks like they are working on something together. LP is friends with Noah & she lend her vocals to the song titled “Punches” that was released 2 years ago. If, somehow, you haven’t heard it yet, make sure to check it out! It’s one of my favourite LP collabs. That’s all for now but I’ll be seeing you soon!
Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
