Ealier today LP released her new single “The One That You Love” along with the official video that was directed by Darren Craig. Song was co-written by LP and her longtime collaborators: Mike Del Rio and Nate Campany. Track was written and recorded in San José del Cabo, when LP was on a writing vacation with her team (December 2019).

In the press release LP said:
“On my new single, ‘The One That You Love,’ I feel like I allowed myself to conjure up all of the genres I love and just let it rip, wild-style, as usual. The melody flew out as if already written – all my favorite songs I’ve written have been like this.”
Track was finished and produced by Mike Del Rio in his Studio Havana in Los Angeles. Mike kindly explained to me that he “played and arranged everything except the drums ;).” The drums were provided by John Badamo.
Video was shot and directed by Darren Craig at the beautiful Big Sky Ranch in Simi Valley, during the coronavirus pandemic, sometime in June 2020. Video has an amazing cinematographic feel to it, the views are to die for, and LP looks just stunning (that white SL suit!) along with her equally handsome co-actor, horse Madara.

LP commented:
“For the video, we wanted most of all to establish the mood and vibe of the song and what’s to come. I’m rambling toward town, on a horse, and only I know where I’m going, but I want you to come along.”
UPDATE. I also wanted to include Mike Del Rio words, he just shared via his Instagram:
“The One That You Love” is OUT NOW. The first taste of my favorite music I’ve made with my soul sister LP & Nate Campany. LP is such a special and unique force in this world… to be a part of this journey with her is such a gift. This new album is honestly the most exciting music we’ve made together and I can’t wait for you to hear the rest. Nate, you are a god and I love you so much.
This song is particularly special to me as it is the first piece of music we finished at my studio, Hotel Havana in LA. I want to give a very special thank you to the brilliant Martin Cooke who slayed away with me getting drum sounds, editing strings and overall being an essential partner in finishing this album. Another special thank you to Scott Thomas Robinson for being THE vocal wizard and essential member of our small army. I love you brotha.
Drums were played by one of my best friends for 15 years, my NYC brethren, Mr Pots’n Pans, the magnificent John Badamo.
Strings played of course by the goddess and ever so brilliant K I A R A A N A. You are amazing!
All other noises/instruments/vibes/string arrangements by yours truly ✌🏽;)
Mixed by Manny Marroquin.
Mastered beautifully by Emily Lazar.
Thank you to our brilliant team at STATE Of THE ART: Ian McEvily, Nick Bobetsky & Paulina Freed for giving our ideas life.
Thank you Eric Maldin for your brilliant taste in editing the visuals.
And thank you to Hotel El Ganzo’s Christophe Bourlon Renna & Paco Rosas for being so accommodating and kind while we made an album in your hotel. So grateful.
Hope you enjoy this and again can’t wait to have the rest of the music out in the world. Much more to come
With love and kindness always

Later today at 8:15 PM ET (that’s 2.15 AM for the most of Europe), LP will be going live to discuss her new single on SiriusXM ‘Volume’ (Ch. 106), conducted by Lyndsey Parker. It also will be available to listen anytime on-demand via the SiriusXM app.

Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
