From Istanbul LP went to İzmir, where last night she has given second of the three planned concerts for Turkey. LP and the band were welcomed very warmly by the fans. The meet and greet this time sadly couldn’t happen due to high demand and logistical constraints. However I’m sure that still, all her fans had an amazing time as evident in the quotes I collected below.

@iranian_rainbow: “So the first time I heard LP was after my split from the my first partner. At first I used to just listened to her but when I saw her video for the first time I fell in love with her even more cause I saw that she is also my family. So Lost on you became the song I listened and danced and cried my bleeding heart out with.”

“When she first posted her 2019’s tour Turkey wasn’t in it! I wrote a comment please please come to Turkey too. So I texted to all my friends all over the world and sent her tour info and beg them to go on behalf of me. Two weeks ago as I was coming back from work at 12pm and exhausted I saw an add on Instagram for her concert in Turkey! I cannot express my feelings in that moment.”

“My lovely boss bought me the ticket as a gift cause she knew how deeply I loved her and even made her to fall in love with LP although she never listened to anything besides Turkish music! To be honest until I saw LP posting the stories of the line we were standing for 3 hours I couldn’t believe it’s really happening!”

“Step by step this dream was becoming true by the LP bracelets they put on our hands and seeing the gourds wearing her photo on the neck or the instruments with her logo on it. But then she really came on the stage and it was really her! It was really her! She sang Dreamcatcher and I couldn’t help myself with crying and laughing and screaming at the same time!..”

“As were driving to Izmir my boss was saying that she doesn’t still understands what gender LP is! And I said for the thousandth time she is a woman. Then she said she doesn’t look like a woman! I said that’s because she is not under genderstereotypes and she is her self. And as I was at the concert seeing a girl with hijab in front of my being excited like I was and a girl with rainbow flag in the first row.”

“I saw with my own eyes that how much LP has encouraged her fans also to proudly be who they are. And I thank you girl. As an iranian queer girl I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope there comes a day when you perform in Iran cause Iran loves you LP.” Thank you Rangin Kaman for letting me share your story with LP fans.

Wish there was more I could share with you, but even though many people did attend the concert, it was really hard for me to find some English quotes that I could use. As for the tambo, I really loved the fact that LP did care that the one I’ve given her broke to pieces. So much so, that she tried to do the same with the next one. But this instrument was a lot stronger.
The one I’ve given LP had a delicate wooden frame, but she liked the sound of it, and I’m still honored that it got to be a part of Muddy Waters performance, even if only for a night… What can I say, it was a quick rebound tambo, after the old one… Now, perhaps it will be easier to move on for LP. Though I still wish her old one would be returned to its rightful owner.
Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
