Last night LP was welcomed back in London, where she has played a sold out show at a really cool venue. Coverage courtesy of Bekki Milner (@spookymilner): “I’ve never been to London Roundhouse before. Yes, it’s actually round. The former railway engine shed (that even contained a turntable) was built in 1846, and is well known for hosting one of only two UK performances by The Doors in 1968. And now it’s held LP.”
“We arrived in the afternoon and met with other UK fans, as well as familiar faces from France, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria. Something I love about LP gigs is all the people that I see – there’s always hugs and hello’s and people you might not have seen in a while. The community is as important as the reason were all there, and last week in Europe there wasn’t one show we didn’t go to that we didn’t know somebody.”
“That’s all kinds of beautiful. As I said already, the venue is round, with a high vaulted ceiling and beautiful arches, the pillars reaching down to the floor, and a grand, tiered balcony. As a result, the acoustics in here are phenomenal, and worked so well for LP’s sound and voice. The energy was high, and Powers got us nice and warm, feeding off the buzz and bringing us all together.”
“The set list remained the same with the addition of Hey Nice to Know Ya, which we hadn’t heard on the dates we’d been to so far. That song is big (it’s one I have to turn up in the car!) and it didn’t disappoint live either. I particularly love the little “whoop whoop” which LP has continued through all the choruses! Every show for me is different, one show will have different highlight songs to the next.”
“In London, it was No Witness, Die for Your Love, Tightrope, House on Fire/Paint it Black/Other People (I will never get tired of this!) and Strange. LP was feeling the energy in the room and it was reflected in her performance – twirling, dancing, jumping, and the noise before the encore was a roar of voices that raised the roof of the Roundhouse like I’ve never heard before.”
“It looked like she had a lot of fun up there, and when LP has fun we have fun and it’s one big cycle of infectious musical happiness. This sold out venue got what it came for. Some fans who’d never seen LP live before, that we met before the show, all said the same at the end – they cried, they’ve never seen anything like LP, they can’t wait to see her again. No, my loves, neither can we.” Bekki – love!!
And a few words from @magali_1976: “It’s so good to be back in UK, to follow LP again during a few concerts. As you know Anna, many friendships began here during the UK tour in November 2017. During this tour we came from all around Europe to follow LP during few weeks. This (2017 UK) tour was the foundation of LP’s concerts’ followers. (the ones who follow LP all around Europe, or more).”
“New fans are surprised to see us melting languages and speaking English with so many different accents, but joking, laughing, travelling and sharing our common love for LP’s music. As you probably know, in one month I begin a new job. With these new professional obligations, I won’ t be able to go to as so many concerts as NOW during at least one year.”
“But I will keep on following LP through the other fans. And if LP is playing somewhere in Europe on Saturday’s evenings, I might be there too. But I feel so lucky to have been able to go to so many gigs, from this incredible singer. Many fans ask me how many times I have seen LP in a concert but in fact it’s not important.”
“I know that some fans, have done more, and it is good like that because for me it’s not a contest. And the most important thing is that LP made each concert unique.” As always, thank you Magali for everything!! And a few more quotes collected from Instagram. @some_say_babs: “Picture might be worth a 1000 words but in this case… not enough – can’t capture the voice. Just wow.”
@kyloekid: “LP brought The Roundhouse down! Capacity crowd, packed to the rafters, feel good factor and stunning performance from supersonic superstar LP. Stunning start to UK Heart to Mouth tour.” @julandasi: “LP. Great songs. Crazy voice and what a wow with the audience. Really connecting. Love her to bits.” @sasquidge:” Had an amazing time seeing LP, her voice cannot be compared.”
@denymendelssohn: “What a night in London. The venue was perfect for this concert full of energy and fun. No words to explain how happy you make me every time I’ve the opportunity to see you on stage. You’re even better and better! And obviously thank you for being always kind and gentle with us!!! You deserve all of this and more! It was a great pleasure to meet you again. See you soon LP!!!”
@jadeycakes92: “Had an amazing time seeing LP and getting to meet her. As a singer and coach myself I always say to everyone… you want someone to aspire to then listen to LP. Amazing vocalist and the best I’ve seen live. Seen her several times now and I can’t express how much everyone should. The recorded versions don’t quite capture the brilliance you hear live.” @sandygcaptures: “LP at the Roundhouse. Quite simply magic.”
@howiet1971: “Absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. LP is extraordinary live. Probably the most comfortable, natural, most charismatic performer I’ve ever seen on stage. And the vocals!!!! Wow.” @100rabbitz: “Came into not prepared, knowing two songs and now I know I need to do my homework cause she smashed it.” @jameszaman: “LP, what an amazing artist and performance, mind blown.”
@dilshinisandhu: “LP, I mean, there are no words to explain what I saw tonight. I’ve been to hundreds – if not thousands – of different gigs in my lifetime. But no one has blown me away with such vocals – absolute 100% perfection. Words cannot describe the sheer joy it gave me to be in the same room as LP tonight. I am so in love with all that energy you gave. Absolute LEGEND.”
@katxsullivan: “Bae got me tickets to see one of my favourite singers tonight. LP. Hands down the best live vocalist.” @charlieinabook: “Took myself out for a Birthday Eve gig and loved every second of it. Goosebumps galore for LP tonight.” @beasticle: “LP was amazing!!!! Such a brilliant gig and the musicianship was just insane!! Can’t wait for the next tour!!”
@klaudiakotlinska: “LP absolutely rocking London & reaching the depths of our souls. Truly incredible performer with one of the best voices of our generation.” In about an hour LP will take a stage of O2 Ritz in Manchester. Many of my friends are there, and I’m so happy they will have an awesome time, yet again! Always amazing, never the same. Keep on rockin’ LP!
