Not sure where to start… Perhaps I should start with thanking the person who manages DDTVN Facebook, for making sure that I would be able to be inside the Cafe during the whole fan meeting and observe it, so I could later report it back here, on my Blog. Thank you – it was very kind. As for the meeting, I arrived some time before 8 am seeing that already many fans had gathered outside Cafe TVN. I went inside, found the man who approved my presence there and I was seated behind a wide pillar with limited view, mostly on cameraman’s back.
Slightly scared I asked wheter I should be seated at that place all the time, thankfully not – I was able to move, but just so I wouldn’t get in a way of camera. That sounded much better. Then the wait began. We all thought that the meeting would start at 8 am, but LP arrived some time after 9.00. Cafe was still closed, when she came inside, LP noticed me and waved, but since she went straight to the table that was waiting for her, I decided not to go towards, but to wait untill there would be time for a proper greeting.
After making sure everything was ok, water prepared for her was still and cameraman had a good angle, first few people including Polish LP FanClub arrived inside. Presents were given, there were laughs, pictures taken and autographs written. Another few people, the same lovely interaction. It all looked nice and lovely. Then 2 representatives from second Polish LP FanClub went inside the Cafe. They had few pics with them, so I explained LP that those are for the people who couldn’t be there that day and if she could sign those. LP of course happily obliged.
And I think that’s the moment that was caught by the camera. LP asked wheter I am fine, as I am always very nervous around her but that she loves that. I also said that few Polish fans went to The Voice of Poland’s TV programme recording to support LP’s performance, just not sure if she heard me as that’s when we were interrupted and LP was taken to the soundcheck that was taking place at a different level of the building. Before leaving LP made sure to give us a big hug. We were told to wait in line, and that LP would get back to us.
So we waited, but the time was passing by and nothing happened. At some point cameraman & the man that managed the visit, invited more people inside the Cafe. They wanted to take some feed with the camera of us singing – that was shown during LP’s interview. Then we waited more. Time passed and again similar situation. Almost everyone was invited to come inside, director wanted to show LP fans enjoing her live performance that was taking place upstairs. Afterwards fans were asked to leave the Cafe, so they could prepare place for LP’s arrival.

And that’s when the whole mess began, some people left but not everyone, it was crowded, there were two entrances that weren’t looked after. When LP came for the second time, shortly before 11.00 we were firmly told that she had only 5 minutes for everyone because of the heavy interview schedule prepared for her that day. Imagine my surprise and each and every other fan. That’s when the hell broke loose. There was yelling, pushing, pulling, fans were told to move fast, to not take pics, to not interact, cause there was no time… Everyone who managed to meet LP had seconds…
Of course not everyone obliged, and I don’t blame those fans… They all waited in line, they travelled for many hours (like myself) just to be there, for many it was the first time seeing LP in person, so they all wanted to have some proof, that this indeed happened. Of course there were also few people who somehow managed to came twice to LP and take pics, and give her tons of pictures to sign… BUT after literally 7 minutes, LP was taken via shortcut to the car that was already waiting for her.

I only managed to say – LP, she turned back, squeezed my hand, said thank you and left… I couldn’t believe my eyes it was already over… Many people didn’t realize even what happened. They kept asking where’s LP, if that’s it… But yes, that was it… I don’t even want to imagine dissapointment of those who were still outside, waiting for their turn… There were tears, there was disbelief and even anger… I really couldn’t get over the fact how LP was welcomed to Poland, and how her fans were treated during that meeting.
I should add however, that despite everything LP tried as best as she could to meet as many fans, to sign as many autographs and to take as many pics as possible during the time she have had with us – thank you LP for that! She truly did all she could, there simple wasn’t enough time and proper organization – something that wasn’t up to LP but the organizator of the event…
That’s why when we heard that LP would visit Radio Eska, we decided to try and catch her there. At first I didn’t even want to go. I felt bad, and weak and sad, but my friend persueded me that we should try. So we went. Security at the Radio was very kind, he informed me that I am allowed to wait inside and that LP hasn’t arrived yet. After a bit of wait, LP was at the venue. I’ve decided not to approach her immediately, but to wait after the programme would be recorded. When LP was leaving the venue she noticed me and came to say hello.

I have said on behalf of Polish fans, that we are thankful that she returned to Poland, that we are very happy to see her again, and that I am very sorry about the meeting that took place earlier that day. LP apologised, she said she had no idea that the ‘Meet & Greet’ was to happen, something of course she wouldn’t mind, but because her schedule was really tight she had to leave the studio. LP also asked to issue a statement by her Polish label, Magic Records – which they did. Of course I said that it’s absolutely not her fault, we understand and that the organizator is to blame.
Before she left, I have asked if I could take a pic with her. LP of course was happy to do it, she again noticed that I am very stressed, it’s like I am re-living our first meeting, and I can’t help it. I was shaking so bad, that LP said that I am like a little vibrator Everyone had a good laugh, and that day ended a way lot better. Again, I am really sorry for each and every one of You who came but was left with nothing. I really hope that LP’s label in Poland will make sure that such thing will never happen again. And that next time, organization will be top notch.
