On the 4th of June LP continued her visit to Canada with a Field Trip Music & Arts Festival in Toronto. Elias was still away, I am unsure when he will return to continue the tour. LP & JD had a replacement for their drummer. As for the festival, it celebrated its 5th anniversary this year. In fact, the first edition of Field Trip (2013) was itself an anniversary party, as that year the event celebrated 10 years of iconic Canadian independent music company Arts & Crafts.

Back in 2013, Jeffrey Remedios: co-founder and then president of Arts & Crafts said “Field Trip was built around the themes of discovery and community. In addition to world-class musical performances, the festival will incorporate local art, gourmet food and unique elements of Toronto’s proud culture. Field Trip is a celebration of Toronto, of community and above all else, of the collaborative spirit.”
As for LP, the organizers of the festival have given her about 45 minutes in total on stage, which resulted in set lasting about 30 minutes (according to those who attended the event). From what I have heard via Instagram LP & the band played: ‘Muddy Waters’, ‘Lost on You’, ‘Tightrope’, ‘Strange’, ‘Into The Wild’. Judging from pics it’s safe to say they also played ‘No Witness”. I think she was able to play more songs during her time on stage, but that’s all what I was able to gather for now. You will find full schedule and line up of the festival by clicking here.

And one more pic courtesy of Alyssa, she took really great shots! Thank you Alyssa for sharing those with me and my readers. In other news, gallery of LP’s concert in Théâtre Corona is now online, click here. And I would also like to quote here Hear And There Photography, who photographed LP in Sinclair. He posted a gallery of pics on his Facebook adding such commentary: “After being awed by LP’s set at Bumbershoot about 5 years ago, my long-anticipated second opportunity to see LP finally happened at The Sinclair! On top of LP’s killer songwriting skills, there’s her inimitable vocals…”.

“…sometimes stratospheric opera coloratura soprano, sometimes warbling yodel, but always incredibly clear and powerful. (Don’t get me started on the cowboy whistle that pierces backing band, audience, everything… gets the attention from dogies five miles away!) Josiah & The Bonnevilles opened (solo… Bonnevilles were under the carport back in LA, it seems), with a one-song assist from LP on backing vocals. Looking forward to a return visit from him sometime!”. Today is free-from-the-show day. LP will play on June 06 at The Shelter in Detroit.
Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
