Last night LP kicked off her 2019 Heart To Mouth North US Tour. First concert took place at The Observatory in Santa Ana. LP brought with her two supporting artists, Slugs and her fiancee, Lauren Ruth Ward. Both artists entertained the crowd, and while I haven’t seen many pictures or videos, I know that the audience was in awe of Lauren’s performance, despite that it was just her and Eduardo Riviera on guitar, while usually there’s also bassist and drummer.
As for LP, sadly she started her tour really sick. She even apologized right before the “Dreamer” by saying “Listen, no excuses, I can do it, but I’m sick as fuck… and I’m trying to, you know, keep up with my normal pace, but if you’ll hear some shit, just try to …? And also, could you cut that fucking fog? I know it’s not as cool with the show, but it’s killing me!” Despite this, LP truly has given all she had. There were parts that you couldn’t even notice that she was sick, but I think second part of the concert was brutal for her to go through almost all of the songs from the setlist.
As for the setlist, thanks to Donna we know how it looked – for photo go to my Facebook (here). LP opened with Dreamcatcher (video on my YouTube – thank you Maryann!), followed by When We’re High, Hey Nice to Know Ya, Dreamer, When I’m Over You, No Witness, Sex on Fire (cover), One Night in the Sun (video also on my YouTube), Girls Go Wild, Recovery, House on Fire (this song has proven to be the toughest for LP last night). Also Paint it Black (The Rolling Stones cover) as a bridge between House On Fire and Other People. And for encore Lost On You.
Donna Eck (@mylpobsession on Instagram) also kindly wrote few words about her concert experience, she titled it: “Heart to Mouth, a new fan’s first full performance by LP.” And here are her words: “Four and a half months ago, by sheer chance, I was introduced to LP’s Lost on You Live Session. From that moment, I needed to learn everything I could about this amazing singer. All the videos I watched, all the interviews, all the photos I saw, all the songs I had listened to over and over, did nothing to dampen the chills and emotions I felt when LP hit the stage at The Observatory in Santa Ana.”
“It was absolutely electrifying. The crowd in the packed venue erupted in roars as she commanded the stage. I had arrived there hours early to ensure I got a good spot front and center. Her aura spilled across the stage, she was right in front of me, I almost couldn’t believe she was real. The eclectic crowd continued to cheer. Every age, every ethnicity, every sexual orientation was represented in that room, all united by a love for LP. We were told ahead of time that LP wasn’t feeling well. That was an understatement.”
“LP told us she was “sick as fuck” and for her to say that, someone with immense fortitude, she must have been sick as fuck. And she was. But LP being LP, she pushed through. She gave it her absolute all. Her set list was shortened, she played for an hour and although I didn’t want it to end, I was relieved for her to finish so that she could rest. Thank you LP. This was my first full performance and you did not disappoint. I am now even more convinced that you are not from this planet. I am so relieved that you canceled Oakland and Sacramento. Please take all the time you need. We will always be here for you.” Thank you Donna for your words and pictures!
As always I have also few quotes for you. Let’s start with @lovejuswins: “To all the things I’ve lost on you, Tell me are they lost on you, Just that you could cut me loose / After everything I’ve lost on you / Is that lost on you… ❤️ (when the crowd lose their 🧠 when she ends the show with the one song we were all waiting for). Rising star LP. If you haven’t heard her yet, your playlist slash life is sincerely missing out.” @eri_electric: “Sick and all, she still gave us that amazing freakin voice.”
@maryann.az: “Pretty incredible show considering LP was “sick as fuck”. Thank you LP for singing my new favs One Night In The Sun & House On Fire And for the proper VIP meet & greet; much better than bustn’ my ass tryna catch a glimpse of Rockstar Royalty.” @vikki_photos: “Incredible show last night at The Observatory with LP kicking off her North America Heart to mouth tour! 🎶 When We’re High 🎶 The audience was pumped and showing lots of love for this extremely talented artist. It’s official LP, America loves you!”
@ciggystarrdust: “Saw LP tonight and IT WAS INCREDIBLE. She is so phenomenal I don’t have the words to do her justice. And she said she was sick tonight???? She is superhuman. The voice of a siren. I’ll be hearing her whistle in my dreams forever 😩😭.” That’s all for now. I will be updating this post and/or my social media once photographers will release their material. Also take a look at this tiny message from LP to her band and team ahead of the 1st concert of US Tour that I included above.

Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
