Yesterday (28th November), was already 3rd concert of UK Fall tour. This time LP and the band performed at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, venue that was built in 1934 and was originally used as an art deco cinema. After the cinema was closed, the venue re-opened as an Irish dance hall called The Forum. In the mid-1980s, it changed direction to a 2,100 capacity live music venue.
Again, so many familiar faces in crowd, including Kyloe who kindly agreed to write a little bit about the concert. She wrote: “This was the first time I’d manged to get tickets for an LP gig. As an avid reader of LP.Blogspot and from the countless clips and fans’ accounts, I knew LP’s incredible live performances had to be experienced to be believed”.
“LP’s London Lost In UK show at O2 Forum Kentish Town exceeded all my expectations. From the moment LP stepped onto the stage, the charged atmosphere became electric. LP’s live vocals and delivery appear effortless and are like no other – one moment gravelly rock, the next sublimely operatic. When she performs, she manages to communicate and evoke a range of emotions from loss (Switchblade) to pride (No Witness)”.
“She owned the stage and her audience from start to finish. The 90-minute set was over in a flash but the memory of LP and her band’s stunning performance will resonate for a very long time. As I was leaving the venue the comment I overheard most was “Wow – she’s incredible!” You better believe it!”. Kyloe, thank you for your incredible and thoughtful words, I wouldn’t have written it better. Simply perfect. And I am very happy you could finally witness LP live as well.
And few more comments. Jonny (@jonnylow88): “The magnificent LP bringing down the house in Kentish Town ?”. Melina (@mel_hua): “Still can’t get over how amazing @iamlpofficial was! Absolutely incredible voice with the most chilled and cool vibe? best birthday present??♀️”. Dan (@dannefrank_): “Got to see @iamlpofficial at @o2forumktown last night! The show was beyond awesome – what an incredible talent and a one of a kind performer. Wish I could do it all over again”.
Dina (@dinaglamour): “Imagine if Dolly Parton and BoB Dylan had a daughter , that would give you a vocal performance out of this world and magnificent stage presences – then you have @iamlpofficial. #girlpower”. Claire (@clairington87): “Utterly blown away by @iamlpofficial in London last night. What talent!!!”. Philippa Sarll (@ChallengedBride): “Fantastic performance by @iamlp last night in London. Absolutely amazing voice. What a register!!”.
Laura (@AngryLozbian): “I think seeing @iamlp live might just have been the closest thing I’ll ever get to a religious experience! Holy Chuffing Moly”. Justin (@Ng justin_ng): “Enjoyed @iamlp performing at @O2ForumKTown tonight. Tough to shoot but think I got something. What a voice (and whistle) she has”. Zanne (@photographybyzanne): “@iamlpofficial blew our minds tonight. Thank you & I can’t wait to catch you in concert again soon. Ps – pardon the shaky video, I was dancing too hard to keep it steady”.
Amanda (@queenofsmallthings): “Ukulele in hand, LP’s voice illuminates the ornate ceiling. I’m still reeling”. Kama (@thelondonwalker): “I was waiting for yesterday’s concert with excitement and apprehension. And I was not disappointed – the night was fantastic. ✨ LP is a real stage animal, she’s magnetic, sexy and made to be a star ⭐️ and that big voice in such a delicate frame ? thank you LP???”. Lori (@so_lory): “For me , she’s my angel.. my religious communion”.
There is also a review of LP’s concert at The Guardian, “…her performance is speckled with quirks. LP’s primary instrument is the ukulele, and she’s a champion whistler – a combination that sounds, on paper, as if she’s a step away from being a novelty act. In fact, the whistling is mournful and perfectly pitched, and the ukulele is a building block of her music, leavening her backing band’s surging guitar rock”. For full review click here.
And one more review by The Upcoming: ” The chorus [Strange] creates a harmonious unity amongst the crowd, the feeling that this artist really understands how it feels to be different, not truly fitting in. …the singer-songwriter really owning her songs, masterfully controlling her voice, singing high falsettos, operatic style. Rocking show-stopper No Witness, and When We’re High, show LP truly in her element”. For full review and great photo-gallery from London, click here.
And now, in regards to the next four concerts, I will cover those after my return from UK. I will be touching down in Manchester during LP’s gig in Cardiff. I won’t be able to blog while in UK, due hostels and a lot of travelling by train. But I promise to catch up as soon as possible. I will try to tweet and post some pics on Instagram. Wish me well, especially because of my anxiety, I am SO looking forward to flying. You have no idea! 😀 PS Please come with blankest if you live in UK and travelling to LP’s concerts via car. Pretty please 😀
Oh, I almost would have forgotten, Deluxe edition of ‘Forever For Now’ will finally see the light of day on the 26th January 2018. It is already available for pre-order. This time it is legit, as LP confirmed it herself. I know what I will get for my birthday! PS. For Lauren’s fans, I know she was recording video to ‘Sheet Stains’ while in London.

Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
