LP was in Holland on the 16th April for Paaspop Festival, then 17th April was a free-from-the-show day, however there surely was some promo planned, and finally on the 18th April (yesterday) LP and her band played another sold out concert at Paradiso Grote Zaal in Amsterdam.

First, the venue – what an incredible and beautiful place. Paradiso Grote Zaal music club is housed in a converted former church building that dates from the nineteenth century and that was used until 1965 as the meeting hall for a liberal Dutch religious group known as the “Vrije Gemeente” (Free Congregation).
The main concert hall in the former church interior has high ceilings and two balcony rings overlooking the stage area, with three large illuminated church windows above the stage. In addition to the main concert hall, there are two smaller cafe stages, on an upper floor and in the basement. I must say it looks stunning. Many artists over the years recorded or filmed concerts at the Paradiso – inlcuding Nirvana.
And now back to the concert and LP. It was another huge success during this tour. That’s how LP is being described by her new fan, alexdorweiler08 (via Instagram): “Alex Turner’s swagger, Bob Dylan’s looks and Florence Welch’s range. Oh my days. Been a while that somebody blew me away like that. Pleasure to meet you, LP”. Alex’s only regret is not being able to buy LP’s vinyl after the show.
The concert’s setlist included LP’s latest songs: ‘Suspicion’ and ‘When we’re high’ which are getting a lot of praise from her fans, myself included. They go well with older songs as well as those from ‘Lost On You’ release. Again, there was a surprise duet, as LP introduced Lauren to the public, to perform their cover of ‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac. Again, this duo was very warmly received. Short video can be found here.
For more images of this amazing concert please check Paradiso Amsterdam Facebook, by clicking here. Black and white photography by Kevin Knipping can be found on photographer’s website, here. And here‘s really great review of LP’s concert (in Dutch). Reviewer wonders (as many of us) why LP previously failed to break through as a solo artist, he continues, that those who attended yesterday’s concert will ask the same question.
However, my favourite quote is ending the article: “Paradiso was once again a church in which LP effortlessly managed to convert her new followers“. Yep. She ‘converted’ many people so far and many people will be ‘converted’ in the future. No doubt about it!

And now, here’s what happened since yesterday. LP announced that her Hamburg concert was rescheduled from 19th to 21st April. After press release: ““I’m so sorry to all my fans in Hamburg for the last minute change of date! But due to promotional commitments, the show has been rescheduled to Friday April, 21st at Grosse Freiheit 36. It will be a slightly earlier show too so check venue website for all details. All of your original tickets will remain valid. I hope I still get to see each and every one of you on the 21st ?.“
It turns out that LP had to be in London today for the promo at BBC The One Show, where she performed ‘Lost on You’, and given short interview. Those in UK will have no problem accessing BBC, however for those outside UK the show is blockedon the website. Let’s hope it will appear online. Tomorrow LP is playing concert at Berlin. After that only 3 shows left till the end of The European tour.
Anna from Poland. I have been a blogger for a long time, but more in a royal field. Since 'meeting' LP through her music and as a person, a lot has changed. If I'm not working on my blog, I work as a teacher. I love to travel, read & dance. I sing & play uke when no one listens. Music was always a big part of my life.
