Courtesy of TGCOM24 we can already watch LP’s latest video to “Conversation”. Officially, it will be released on the 3rd December along with LP’s newest creation – album Churches. I know that some of you already receive the record, mine hasn’t shipped yet.

Listening to the lyrics, I had an inclination, what this song was about, especially the line: “Who knew; Two waters make a fire sign” seemed quite obvious. And my thoughts were confirmed as LP said in the press release:
“‘Conversation’ is me trying to talk myself into staying in the relationship that I was in. Realizing that we just think differently & just wishing it could come down to a conversation that could fix things and just celebrating and feeling that love for that person and the optimism of feeling that a conversation could fix everything.”
The video was directed by Stephen Schofield. While it’s simple, I like how it was executed. Love the costumes and LP trying to get through to herself, without success. LP describes the video as:
“This video was much like the ‘Angels’ video where we shot these lyric videos, and I just was playing. I was just fun that the concept of two people having a conversation, are both myself.
Me being in two different outfits and one of me was not hearing, or not understanding, and beating their head against the wall, that just kind of happened.
It was a super-spontaneous way showing that I’m constantly having these conversations in my own head, with myself. The good and the bad.”
I’m not going to write much more, “Churches” arrives in just few days, and then I will share my thoughts and feelings on the album as a whole. For now, let’s just say I’m grateful for this song and the lyrics, which I’m attaching below.
