We are already into day 6 & 7 of LP’s tour. 31st March was for catching a breath, welcoming Lauren to Italy and exploring Modena. From pictures Modena looks like a historic city with many treasures worth seeing. On the next day, 1st April, LP and Lauren arrived at Vox Club where they were welcomed by their Italian fans. There are many pictures on Instagram. I have chosen only one.
Lauren was playing as a support for LP, she has chosen 8 songs to present to the public. Lauren started with ‘I feel cool’, then were: ‘Heart in the states’, ‘Burden’, ‘Sheet Stains’, ‘Did I offend you’ (my favourite), ‘Side Ways’, ‘Make love to myself’. Lauren finished with ‘Well, hell’ that soon will be released as a single.
Judging from the pictures, screams, and videos she was a hit with a public. But then of course came LP – the star of the night. LP is continuing her tour with the same setlist, so she started with ‘Muddy Waters’. I think it’s a perfect opening song – it gives a preview of what LP is capable of…
During ‘Tightrope’, LP was joined at the stage by Lauren for a little bit. They danced with a red ribbon symbolizing tightrope – such ribbons were used in LP’s music video to that song. They seemed to have fun together at the stage. With a kiss Lauren left a stage and rest of the night was only for LP and her band. For a video of that moment, click here.
In between the songs LP mentioned that her band has played an April Fools’ joke on her while she was touring Modena. She received a bunch of text messages and a phone call from her menager that Elias – her drummer, might have broken an arm… Well, drummer without working arm, during tour – you can only imagined what went through LP’s head. Thankfully it was only a joke and Elias is fine. I hope LP will get them next time! Video of that story is here.
LP finished her set with ‘Into the Wild’. And after the concert she and Lauren did meet with the fans, there were pictures for few lucky fans and signing of autographs. I’m sure Italy was thrilled as it was first such a meet and greet during this tour. Today Lauren and LP are travelling to Padova which is not that far away. All 3 Italian concerts are in the north of the country.
Also yesterday while LP was playing her concert, Amici programme was aired – reality show that was pre-recorded (a week ago or so), with LP as a special guest. During the show she was singing her songs with two contestants. With Shady she sung ‘Other People’ for video click here. And with Federica ‘Lost on You’ – video is here. Not sure if the winner is announced after each show? Don’t know how this programme works. During that programme LP also received a Gold Award from Sony Music Italy! Congrats LP!
